Educated at the Frances Holland preparatory school, Petra Ecclestone went on to gain three A Grade A’ levels at the Mander Portman Woodward school in South Kensington. Having completed her A Levels, Petra began modelling professionally, signed to Premier models, both in the UK and Europe. Some of her notable achievements in her short-lived modelling career were taking to the catwalk for Julien Macdonald during London Fashion Week and Alberta Ferretti in Milan.
In 2008 Petra launched the fashion label Form, which was a success in the UK for the first three seasons. However it proved extremely difficult to attain US stockists for such a high end menswear collection at the beginning of the economic downturn, hence Petra closed Form down to concentrate on her charitable work. One of the many charities that Petra works closely with is the Meningitis Trust, a charitable organisation that helps people coping with Meningitis, where she is an ambassador. One of the projects Petra spearheaded to raise money for the charity was to co-designed a bracelet with jewellery designer Carolina Bucci.
In August 2011 Petra married entrepreneur James Stunt and moved to Los Angeles. Petra’s most recent project is Stark handbags, which launched in September 2011. Currently in its second season, Stark handbags is an ultra luxurious collection consisting mostly of clutch bags made from the most beautiful exotic skins as well as box clutches made entirely with Swarovski crystals.
