Christian Lacroix
22nd January 2011 saw the launch of Fall 2011 Christian Lacroix Menswear ready-to-wear under Creative Director Sacha Walckhoff.
Opened in 1987 by Monsieur Lacroix, the house of Christian Lacroix became known for the couturier’s fantastical luxurious creations, considered French Haute Couture at its most celebrated. The couturier launched Ready-to-wear in 1988 with full accessory collections for men and women in 1989. The house is now owned by Falic Fashion Group.
French-Swiss designer and longtime employee of the house prior to the departure of Monsieur Lacroix, Sacha Walchkoff worked with the eponymous couturier for 17 years. Beginning as a knitwear designer, Walchkoff moved onto the diffusion line Bazar, then to denim and finally to menswear. A brief departure from the house Walchoff consulted for brands including Kenzo before returning to Christian Lacroix.
Fall 2011 sees the presentation of the second menswear collection under the new creative team and also debut of menswear accessories. Walkhoff has created four collections within the line: two leather together with canvas and nylon. This together with a collaboration with J.M. Weston for footwear.
A home collection will be launched in conjunction with Designers Guild during Masison & Objet, a first for the house of Christian Lacroix.
